About Pamela
My name is Pamela Virgo, and I am a professionally trained and certified Funeral Celebrant.

Born and raised in Southern California, you may notice my American accent straight away. I never imagined living in the UK until meeting my husband.
We married in 2008, and I moved to Eastbourne so he could remain close to his daughters. In 2013, I had the great honour of becoming a British citizen.
You may wonder what drew me to this profession. The answer traces back to a pivotal moment in 2013 after my grandmother passed away. Faced with the daunting task of arranging a service, we were guided toward a Funeral Celebrant. Her kindness and gentleness soon put us at ease, replacing our initial apprehensiveness.

The celebrant guided us through a journey of emotions – we laughed, cried, reminisced. She helped create space for us to say goodbye in a meaningful way.

I can honestly say I will never forget that experience.

With my background in speech communications and a desire to pass on the compassion that we were shown, I felt called to this career. It’s been my privilege ever since to help other families through their grief. I aim to provide that same gift of comfort and closure that so moved me.
